No child or family should struggle, especially throughout the holidays and definitely not because of domestic violence related issues.
On Dec 19, 2023, Lisa Cowen dropped off Christmas gifts along with a $700 donation (for additional Christmas gifts) at the New Hope, Inc. Main Office in Attleboro for three children impacted by domestic violence this holiday season. When we established the Amber Nicole Cowen Memorial Foundation in 2021 we vowed to help survivors of domestic violence and assist with the education process as it relates to domestic violence. A big thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters of the ANCMF, which allows us to continue to give back in Amber's memory. Amber may have been taken from us far too soon but, as she did in life she will continue to give back for years and years to come. If you get a chance, please Google "New Hope, Inc." and you will see why we continue to help this amazing non-profit organization.
Merry Christmas everyone! From The Amber Nicole Cowen Memorial Foundation.
On Thursday, September 21st, 2023 the Amber Nicole Cowen Memorial Foundation attended the annual Garden of Peace Memorial through MOVA the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance.
This year, Brad Cowen was an honored speaker. Although we gather together through tragedy, you could feel the love, support and authenticity through every person sitting in the crowd. That day we truly came together as one.
“The Garden is the Massachusetts memorial to victims of homicide, a place where families, friends, and the larger community may remember and honor the lives of those taken by violence. It's an enduring reminder of the impact of violence and a visual testament of the need to eliminate it. At the same time, the Garden serves as a symbol of hope, peace, and renewal.”
So excited to announce that the Amber Nicole Cowen Memorial Foundation donated $10,000 to New Hope, Inc. on September 1st, 2023!
How ironic is it that Diana (President/Chief Executive Officer of New Hope, Inc.) will be looking to start a new program for survivors of Domestic Violence. This program will teach survivors life skills such as check writing, budgeting finances, and even resume writing. It just so happens that Amber was a reentry planner prior to becoming a Correctional Program Officer. As a reentry planner she would work with the Inmate population on life skills as they prepared to be released back into society… There are really are no coincidences.
With that being said, this special day would not have been possible if it were not for all of our donations/sponsors and support from everyone that has volunteered and participated in our events. Thank you so much to everyone that helped us make this happen.
We would like to extend a huge shout out/thank you to Bryan and Hannah Mavel for raising $1,379 for the Amber Nicole Cowen Memorial Foundation at the 3rd Annual Simcock Farm Car Show in Somerset, MA.
A special thank you to George Austin from Travelin’ Somerset for taking the time to cover the Amber Nicole Cowen Memorial Foundations' second annual motorcycle run. George always finds the time to attend as well as cover the events that we have had over the years which has helped us meet our mission, bringing awareness to domestic violence.
We are pleased to announce our first annual memorial scholarship presented to a recipient of Somerset Berkley Regional High School. This year on May 31st, 2023 we were honored to award one student, with a $5,000 scholarship to study Psychology. A unanimous vote amongst the committee led us to selecting Emma Preston. After meeting Emma it was evident we clearly made the right choice. You are a remarkable young woman, destined to do great things. Congratulations Emma Preston, Class of 2023!
